Applications for Talent Explorer funding are now being accepted. Funding granted by Business Finland will enable companies to recruit a specialist with new skills and knowledge that will help the company to gain a foothold in the selected international market. The Talent Explorer funding is part of the national Talent Boost programme.

The specialist hired with Talent Explorer funding may be a person with specific skills, knowledge or experience in the desired new export market, such as a foreign student who is studying in a Finnish university or university of applied sciences, is completing their final project, or has graduated recently.

Talent Explorer is a funding service for companies that

  • are in the early stages of their internationalisation process or need more skills or knowledge to drive the company’s international growth, and to do this need to recruit an expert able to identify a new export market for an existing product, service or business model;
  • need help from a specialist to plan their internationalisation process and to explore new target markets;
  • already have regular business activities, are financially stable, and have secured funding for their share of a project; and
  • have sufficient resources and skills for internationalisation, and employ more than one person.
The maximum amount of Explorer funding granted by Business Finland is EUR 20,000 and its covers at most 50% of the costs of a specialist recruited and working in Finland. The company is required to pay at least 50% of the costs of the specialist to be hired.
