The Seminar Series ‘Innovation and geopolitics’ aims to spark discussion on challenges and opportunities created by technological innovations as part proactive peace mediation and conflict prevention.

Finland’s first time as a co-convenor at World Water Week

The theme of the World Water Week 2023 is ‘Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World’.

The SIWI Seminar Series are part of the official programme of the World Water Week. They give researchers and other experts an excellent opportunity to share their recent research and their innovative projects with the international water and development community.

In addition to the seminar series, abstracts of speeches and presentations can be submitted to other parts of the conference programme, such as workshops or different kinds of virtual events.

World Water Week is an international conference on global water issues, held in Stockholm every year since 1991.

The conference brings together researchers, state actors, financial institutions, civil society organisations and private sector operators to seek together solutions for building a more water-wise future.

The World Water Week covers recent research, latest innovations and the water sector’s links to food security, health, technology, biodiversity and climate change.

For many years, Finland has taken an active part in the conference. This is the first year the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Water Forum are co-convening one of the seminar series as part of the official conference programme.
