Changes to government ministers
On Friday 24 May, the President of the Republic appointed Member of Parliament Susanna Huovinen as Minister of Health and Social Services and Member of Parliament Pia Viitanen as Minister of Housing and Communications. Krista Kiuru, the Minister of Housing and Communications in office, was appointed as the Minister of Education and Science.
On the same occasion, the President of the Republic released Member of Parliament Jukka Gustafsson from his duties as Minister of Education and Science and Member of Parliament Maria Guzenina-Richardson from her duties as Minister of Health and Social Services.
On Friday, the Government plenary session made decisions on the division of responsibilities among ministers, members of the cabinet committees and ministers' deputies. The swearing-in of the new Minister of Housing and Communications Pia Viitanen also took place during the Government session.
