On Friday, 21 December, the President of the Republic announced changes within Prime Minister Vanhanen’s second Cabinet due to the abolishment of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Labour and the establishment of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy as of 1 January 2008.
The President appointed Minister Mauri Pekkarinen as Minister of Economic Affairs and Minister Tarja Cronberg as Minister of Employment in the Ministry of Employment and the Economy as of 1 January 2008.
