Sari Multala to serve as Minister of Climate and the Environment, Mari-Leena Talvitie as Minister of Science and Culture
On 24 January, the President of the Republic appointed Minister of Science and Culture Sari Multala, Master of Science in Economics, to the post of Minister of Climate and the Environment and Member of Parliament Mari-Leena Talvitie, Master of Science in Engineering, as a member of the Government and as the new Minister of Science and Culture.
On the same occasion, the President of the Republic released Master of Social Science in Economics Kai Mykkänen from his duties as Minister of Climate and the Environment.
Following the presidential session, the Government plenary session decided on changes to deputising arrangements and the composition of ministerial working groups. The division of duties between the ministers will remain unchanged. Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala was also appointed to replace Kai Mykkänen on the Ministerial Committee on European Union Affairs.
At the beginning of the session, Minister Talvitie took her oath of office and judicial oath.
Master of Theology Kristiina Kokko will continue as State Secretary to the Minister of Science and Culture and the Minister of Local and Regional Government. Master of Social Science Emmi Venäläinen and Master of Laws Santeri Lohi will continue as Special Advisers to the Minister of Science and Culture.
Master of Administrative Sciences Mika Nykänen will continue as State Secretary to the Minister of Climate and the Environment and the Minister of Employment. Master of Science in Business Administration and Social Sciences Emma-Stina Vehmanen and Master of Science in Agriculture and Forestry Lyydia Ylönen will continue as Special Advisers to the Minister of Climate and the Environment.
