Finland’s embassy in Bagdad resumed its operations on 9 June.
On 17 March, the mission was temporarily suspended due to the local restrictions related to the coronavirus outbreak. The restrictions significantly weakened the Embassy's operating conditions.
Due to the general security situation in the country, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs has for years recommended that all travel to Iraq be avoided. The recommendation remains in force. The coronavirus situation in Iraq is also difficult.
