Finland to attend virtual meeting of Nordic foreign ministers (N5)

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto will attend a virtual Nordic foreign ministers’ meeting in N5 format on 13 December. Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly will attend the meeting as a guest.

The foreign ministers will discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, topical NATO matters, multilateral and regional cooperation, and the green transition. 

“It is very important for me to meet my Nordic colleagues and discuss topical matters with them. I greatly appreciate that Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Joly will join the meeting, too. The Nordic countries and Canada are partners, and we share the same values,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Haavisto.
