Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen to meet UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy in London
Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will visit London on 4 February and meet the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
Foreign Minister Valtonen and UK Foreign Secretary Lammy will discuss topical issues related to European security, such as Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, support to Ukraine and the threats posed by Russia’s shadow fleet. They will also discuss bilateral relations between Finland and the United Kingdom.
“The United Kingdom is a key partner and ally for Finland. JEF cooperation and joint measures targeting the Russia’s shadow fleet are important for the security in both Europe and the Baltic Sea. We also engage in close and important cooperation with the UK in sanctions and in responding to Russia’s hybrid operations,” Foreign Minister Valtonen says.
