Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will attend a meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Helsingborg, Sweden, on 21–22 May.

The meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs will focus on the preparations for the upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara in July.

Foreign ministers will discuss the priorities of the upcoming summit, including the Alliance’s support to Ukraine and the Allies’ progress towards the goals agreed at the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague to strengthen collective defence.

“Russia still poses a long-term and persistent threat to the Alliance, which is why Allies are making determined efforts to strengthen NATO’s deterrence and defence. NATO has provided security for the Euro-Atlantic region for decades. A stronger and more European NATO is of common interest to the United States and Europe,” Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen says.
