Matilda af Hällström will serve as Special Adviser to Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen starting from 2 September 2024. She was the acting Special Adviser to the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 4 December 2023 to 12 January 2024.
Prior to her appointment as Special Adviser, af Hällström was Adviser on EU, foreign and defence policy of the National Coalition Party. She has previously served as Senior Specialist at the International Department of the Finnish Parliament and as EU Specialist at the Nordic Council Office in Brussels. af Hällström holds the degrees of Master of Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki and Master of Arts (Hons.) from the University of St Andrews in the United Kingdom.
