Minister for European Affairs Adlercreutz meets Swedish Minister for EU Affairs Roswall
Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Anders Adlercreutz met Sweden's EU Minister Jessika Roswall on Friday 1 September. The ministers discussed a number of topical issues in connection with the Europe Forum organised in Turku.
Ministers Adlercreutz and Roswall discussed the future and enlargement of the European Union, the mid-term review of the multiannual financial framework and the preparation of the EU's strategic agenda for 2024–2029. Their discussions also touched on the bilateral relations between Finland and Sweden.
“I am pleased to have had several meetings with the Swedish Minister for EU Affairs, Jessika Roswall. Cooperation between our two countries is more important now than ever before. Sweden is mentioned, for the first time, in our Government Programme as Finland's closest partner. In EU affairs, we have a number of key issues that require cooperation between like-minded countries as concerns, for example, the internal market and the rule of law mechanism,” Minister Adlercreutz said.
Minister Adlercreutz also had discussions with Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. Minister Adlercreutz and Minister of State Lindner exchanged views on the current foreign and security policy situation and the internal market.
