Minister Henriksson to attend meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation in Copenhagen
Minister for Nordic Cooperation Anna-Maja Henriksson will attend a meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation in Copenhagen on 9 February. This will be the first meeting during Sweden’s 2024 Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
During its Presidency, Sweden will promote Vision 2030 adopted by the Nordic prime ministers with the goal of making the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. Sweden’s Presidency will focus especially on increasing mobility between the Nordic countries by increasing cooperation on removing cross-border obstacles.
“I would like to thank Sweden for its good and topical Presidency programme. I deem it very important that, during its Presidency, Sweden will seek to remove cross-border obstacles and make it easier for people to move, live, study, work and start a business in the Nordic countries,” Minister Henriksson says.
At the meeting, the Ministers for Nordic Cooperation will discuss the work on Vision 2030 and decide on a cooperation programme for 2025–2030. Other items on the meeting agenda include budgetary planning for 2025. Finland will hold the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2025.
