Minister Tavio to attend Qatar Economic Forum

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will attend the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha from 14 to 16 May 2024.

This is the fourth time the Qatar Economic Forum is taking place. The event will focus on global economic issues especially from the perspective of the Gulf countries and the region’s growing influence. The theme of this year’s forum is ‘A World Remade: Navigating the Year of Uncertainty’.

Minister Ville Tavio will participate in a panel discussion on challenges related to production and value chains. He will also meet members of the Qatari Government and business representatives in Doha. The meetings will focus on opportunities for trade cooperation between Finland and Qatar in different sectors and highlight the expertise of Finnish companies in fields such as ICT, health and education. Minister Tavio will also open a seminar organised by the Embassy of Finland in Doha showcasing Finnish expertise in health technology

Minister Tavio views the visit to Doha as an opportunity to take part in international discussions on the economy, global developments and investment and to highlight Finland’s strengths: “This is an excellent occasion to  visit a market that is important to our companies and to highlight Finnish expertise.”
