Educa, the leading education and training trade fair in the Nordics, will be held at Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki on 26–27 January. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will organise a panel discussion on the topic International order put to the test — Finland’s position in an era of major power rivalries and conflicts.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen and Karoliina Vaakanainen, Chair of UN Youth of Finland 2023 and Chair of 2030 Agenda Youth Group, will talk about the current foreign and security policy situation. The debate, to be moderated by journalist Tommy Fränti, will take place on the Tahto stage at Messukeskus on Friday 26 January at 16.00.
The MFA's panel will be held in Finnish, but there is other program held in English, see more here (link).
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ stand is 6n50. Familiar material on sustainable development goals for global education will be available at the stand, for example a guide for teachers and 2030 Agenda posters. A new edition of the topical NATO brochure and publications on the EU will also be available. While most of the material is unfortunately only available in Finnish and Swedish, there are also materials in English.
Fairgoers will have a chance to play a new global education online game for general upper secondary school students (in Finnish and in Swedish). The game takes students on an adventure to learn about Finland’s development cooperation and sustainable development in a fun and interactive way.
Come and hear the panel discussion, meet experts from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and learn about the themes of development policy and foreign and security policy. Meet us at the Fair!
You can register for the event free of charge.
