President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discuss NATO defence ministers’ meeting and Finland’s participation in international crisis management

On Friday 7 June, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the Meeting of NATO Defence Ministers to be held in Brussels on 13–14 June.

The defence ministers’ meeting will focus on preparations for the NATO Summit in Washington in July. The agenda covers a wide range of issues related to developing NATO deterrence and defence and supporting Ukraine.

The President and the Ministerial Committee also received a briefing on Finland’s participation in international crisis management. Finland currently has around 450 soldiers participating in 11 military crisis management operations.
