President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discuss Ukraine peace negotiations and situation concerning Greenland

On Thursday 8 January, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed progress in the Ukraine peace process, including the results of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris on 6 January. As part of the Coalition, Finland stresses the importance of strong security guarantees in achieving a sustainable solution. The United States’ participation in Ukraine’s security guarantees is vital.

The meeting also included a discussion on the situation concerning Greenland. Finland emphasises the importance of respect for the UN Charter and international law. Only Greenland and Denmark can decide on matters that concern them.
