The Prime Minister of Estonia, Andrus Ansip will visit Finland on 12 December and have a meeting with Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen in Turku. The premiers' discussions will focus on key EU issues, the debt crisis, the development of the EU and energy and transport issues. The premiers will also discuss key bilateral issues.
In addition, the Prime Ministers will sign a bilateral agreement between Finland and Estonia on the basis of which an extract from a national population system is approved in the other state party without the process of legalising or translating the document.
The Prime Ministers will also speak at the discussion forum on the future of Europe arranged at the University of Turku. The discussion will focus on the future of Europe from the point of view of the Baltic Sea region, in particular. The series of seminars on the future of Europe began this autumn in Helsinki and will continue in other locations next spring (www.vnk.fi/futureofeurope).
