Serbia
Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić of Serbia will visit Finland on 12 April and will meet with Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja and Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb.
The topics of the talks to take place with Foreign Minister Tuomioja are bilateral relations, Serbia’s rapprochement with the EU and the relations between Serbia and Kosovo. The talks with Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb, in turn, will deal with current bilateral and EU issues.
Serbia was granted EU candidate country status by the European Council on 2 March. Serbia’s full cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the country’s active role in the regional reconciliation process are factors underlying this decision. Finland has supported Serbia’s integration with the EU.
