The Secretariat of the Antarctic Treaty is looking for rapporteurs

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is announcing that the Secretariat of the Antarctic Treaty is looking for rapporteurs (including trainee rapporteurs) for the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM) to be held in Helsinki from 25 May to 4 June 2020. Under the guidance of the Secretariat, the rapporteurs will be responsible for keeping notes of the speeches and for reporting on the discussions held during the Consultative Meeting. Applicants are expected to have a solid knowledge of the Antarctic Treaty System and to have excellent oral and written skills in English.

Additionally, as the host country of the meeting, Finland is looking for two local rapporteurs, who will assist the Secretariat in preparing a report of the meeting.  The requirements are the same for all candidates.

The 29 Parties of the Treaty convene annually for a Consultative Meeting to discuss the application and implementation of the Antarctic Treaty. Finland is a Consultative Party to the Antarctic Treaty.
