This is FINLAND Magazine 2024–2025: fashion, video game development and homelessness work

The revamped This is FINLAND Magazine has now been published in English. Its diverse range of content covers topics from Finnish fashion to the world of video games and from happiness to sauna architecture.

“The revamped This is FINLAND Magazine is stylish and offers a diverse cross-section of Finnish culture and society targeted at international audiences. I was personally pleased with Ervin Latimer’s story about his strongly value-driven clothing design. Latimer was interviewed in Paimio Sanatorium, which is designed by architects Alvar and Aino Aalto, who also perceived their work strongly through values,” says Mika Kukkonen, Director of Unit for Public Diplomacy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

“The new This is FINLAND Magazine opens new windows to Finland. The reader is invited to visit a forest and participate in mushroom picking, visit the homes of Finns who used to be homeless, and view the video game industry as an art of interactive storytelling – and not forgetting the world of sauna. We are also offered an opportunity to hear from several people who have moved to Finland and how they see and feel happiness in Finland,” says Kukkonen.

This magazine is intended for international readers, and it is part of the multi-channel This is FINLAND media.

This is FINLAND Magazine is published in cooperation between the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Business Finland and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. The magazine is distributed globally through the editorial board’s distribution channels, including Finnish diplomatic missions. At the end of June or the beginning of July, the magazine will also be available in German, French, Spanish and Chinese. The magazine will be published in Russian as a PDF version and digital magazine.
