This is FINLAND Magazine 2025–26: Moomins’ anniversary, local food and peacebuilding

This is FINLAND Magazine is now available in English. Part of the 'This is FINLAND' country brand media, promoted across several channels, the Magazine targets an international readership.

The latest issue of This is FINLAND Magazine focuses on Finnish culture, which is not widely known outside Finland. The Magazine looks at the life of Tove Jansson and celebrates the 80th anniversary of the first Moomin book ‘The Moomins and the Great Flood’.

“We can draw a great deal of inspiration from both Tove Jansson’s life and the Moomins’ philosophy in terms of freedom, equality or helping others in difficult times. This is FINLAND Magazine’s cover story about actress Alma Pöysti and director Aki Kaurismäki's film art similarly highlights how marginalised people can make their voices heard and how we can deal with sensitive themes by means of culture and art. Naturally we also have an article about the Finnish sauna, which is trending high. Spending time in sauna is an excellent way to find tranquillity and remove the distractions of the outside world,” says Director of the Unit for Public Diplomacy Mika Kukkonen.

The Magazine also features a story about an aurora researcher, explores how trust and peace are built and presents artist Teemu Keisteri's thoughts about children’s culture and the freedom of the creative process. The interview with chef Remi Trémouille takes the reader on a journey to discover local Finnish food and restaurants that use best local ingredients. We also fall in love with Finnish potatoes.

This is FINLAND Magazine is published by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Business Finland and Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund. It is distributed globally using the channels available to the editorial board, including the Finnish missions abroad. The Magazine will also be available in German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese in April. The Russian edition of the Magazine is published in PDF and digital formats.
