19.11.2025 | On 18 November, Finland, the United States and Canada signed a trilateral Joint Statement of Intent (JSOI) confirming support for the Icebreaker Collaboration Effort (ICE) Pact, launched in autumn 2024. The JSOI was signed in Washington DC by Sakari Puisto, the Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs, Kristi Noem, the United States Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and Kirsten Hillman, Canada’s Ambassador to the United States.

14.11.2022 | Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto has convened an international conference to discuss gender equality promotion and feminist foreign policy. The conference will take place at the House of the Estates in Helsinki on 16 November. The conference aims to share best practices on the content and means of foreign policy that promotes gender equality. Another aim is to encourage more discussion about feminist foreign policy in Finland.

11.1.2023 | The Parliamentary Working Group on Research, Development and Innovation has prepared a draft for a multi-annual plan on the use of R&D funding and is now inviting stakeholders to comment on its content. The request for comments concerns the different aspects of the plan with regard to the Finnish RDI system and key development needs for RDI funding. Stakeholders are also invited to discuss the plan at an event on 18 January.
