11.2.2026 | VR-Group Plc and Suomen Ostoliikennekalusto Oy announced today that they have signed an asset purchase agreement concerning the rolling stock used in passenger rail services funded by the government. 13.11.2025 | The Government proposes that the President of the Republic approve on 14 November 2025 the act on digital information services for the transport system and amendments to the related acts. The acts will enter into force on 1 January 2026.

2.3.2026 | Wild-berry picking has been regulated under the Seasonal Workers Act since 2025. Companies must hire foreign berry pickers subject to a visa requirement for a contractual employment relationship to enable them to apply for an entry permit to Finland. For stays up to three months, berry pickers apply for a seasonal work visa at a Finnish mission abroad.

1.12.2025 | The agreement on cross-border taxi services between Finland and Norway will enter into force on 14 December 2025. It will permit taxi transport between the two countries.

26.1.2026 | On 26 January 2026, Finland and 13 other European countries published a letter to the International Maritime Community on the safety and security risks caused by Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) interference. The signatories of the letter include the coastal states of the Baltic Sea and the North Sea: Finland, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom as well as Iceland.

13.3.2025 | On 13 March 2025, Finland’s Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne and Norway’s Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygård signed an agreement in Oslo, Norway, on taxi transport services between the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Norway. The agreement permits taxi transport services between Finland and Norway.
