The Prime Minister's Office
The Prime Minister’s Office is one of the Government’s twelve ministries. Its main task is to support the Prime Minister in the general management of the Government and in coordinating the work of the Government and Parliament. It is responsible for organising the Government’s activities and ensuring that the general conditions are in place for the Government to function properly in all circumstances.
The Prime Minister’s Office monitors the implementation of the Government Programme and plans and anticipates public policy over the long term. It is also responsible for Finland’s EU policy, for the ownership steering of state-owned companies and for Government communications.
The Prime Minister’s Office produces and develops joint administrative services for all ministries. These services include information management, translation and language services, document management, facilities and in-house services and publication services. The Prime Minister’s Office also oversees a variety of cross-administrative projects and bodies.
