Prime Minister Marin to visit Iceland on 22 and 23 November

Prime Minister Sanna Marin will meet with Icelandic Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir in Reykjavik on Tuesday 22 November.

Topics of the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Marin and Prime Minister Jakobsdóttir will include climate action and combating biodiversity loss, energy solutions for the green transition, promoting human rights and gender equality, the economy, Nordic and Arctic cooperation, and bilateral relations between the two countries more broadly. They will also discuss Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine, support for Ukraine, the changed security situation in Europe and Finland’s future NATO membership. 

In connection with their meeting, the prime ministers will take part in a discussion event on the current challenges facing the Nordic countries, Europe and other regions at the National Museum of Iceland. The event is organised by the University of Iceland’s Institute of International Affairs. It will be streamed live on Tuesday 22 November starting at 14.20 Finnish time at

The Prime Minister’s programme will also include visits to companies at Grandi harbour.
