On 24 May, the President of the Republic of Finland approved a bill on the Government situation centre. It comprises provisions on the Government situation centre, on its core functions and on the right to information.
The purpose of the bill is to ensure that the President of the Republic and the Government have access to information related to safety and security, and to safeguard the formation of reliable situation awareness. It will enter into force on 1 July 2017.
