Anna Cantell-Forsbom to continue as Director General of Department for Clients and Services in Healthcare and Social Welfare at Ministry of Social Affairs and Health
On Thursday 15 August, the Government appointed Anna Cantell-Forsbom to serve as Director General of the Department for Clients and Services in Healthcare and Social Welfare at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The appointment is for a fixed term between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2029.
Cantell-Forsbom will continue in her current position following the appointment. She has deputised for the Director General of the Department for Clients and Services in Healthcare and Social Welfare since 2022. Prior to this, she served as Director of the Children and Young People Unit at the Ministry’s Department for Communities and Functional Capacity from 2020 to 2022. Between 1987 and 2020, she worked for the City of Vantaa. She spent most of that time working in various managerial and supervisory positions in early childhood education and care and in services for children and families, most recently as director of family services. Cantell-Forsbom holds the degree of Master of Education.
The Department for Clients and Services in Healthcare and Social Welfare prepares and develops matters pertaining to the position and rights of clients and patients, healthcare and social welfare employees, and health and social services.
