Advisory Board for the Creative Economy has been appointed
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Ministry of Education and Culture appointed an Advisory Board for the Creative Economy on 3 December 2024 with the aim of promoting the growth and internationalisation of Finland’s creative industries.
It was agreed in the Government Programme that in connection with the cultural policy report, the Government would implement a cross-sectoral growth strategy for creative industries. The first task of the Advisory Board is to formulate proposals for the objectives of the growth strategy and measures to achieve them.
The Advisory Board is an expert advisory body for business development in the creative economy. It will address issues concerning the development of the creative economy and related legislation and coordinate the measures of different administrative branches. The Advisory Board will also monitor and evaluate the development of the operating environment and phenomena both nationally and globally and accelerate the implementation of the growth agreement. For its part, the Board will implement the cultural policy report as part of the growth strategy.
The Advisory Board on the Creative Economy is chaired by State Secretary Marjo Lindgren from the Ministry of Transport and Communications with State Secretary Kristiina Kokko from the Ministry of Education and Culture serving as vice-chair. The members of the Advisory Board represent ministries and units in their administrative branches, research and educational institutions, interest groups, companies and financiers.
