Changes to Prime Minister Orpo’s advisers

Katri Manninen and Veera Svahn

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has invited Katri Manninen to serve as his Special Adviser in Political Affairs and as Secretary of the National Coalition Party’s government group. She will replace Henrik Vuornos, who will take up his new position as a Member of Parliament on 24 January 2025. 

Katri Manninen has served as Special Adviser to Prime Minister Orpo since the start of the government term, and has been responsible for media relations and matters related to the Prime Minister’s parliamentary work. Prior to her role as Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, she served as Special Adviser to the party leadership at the office of the National Coalition Party. She has also worked for the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland, the Ministry of Finance and Parliament. Manninen has a Master’s degree in Social Services.

The Prime Minister has appointed Veera Svahn to serve as his Special Adviser in media relations and matters related to parliamentary work. She is transferring to the post from her position as Special Adviser to Minister of Employment Arto Satonen. Svahn previously worked for ten years as a consultant and partner at Blic Public Affairs, a consultancy firm specialising in civic participation, and has also worked as a communications consultant in business communications and public affairs. Svahn holds a Master of Arts degree.

Manninen and Svahn will begin in their new positions on 24 January 2025.
