Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio meets with Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat
The ministers met in Helsinki on 26 February. They discussed the bilateral relations between Finland and Türkiye and EU–Türkiye trade and economic relations.

Bilateral trade between Finland and Türkiye has seen strong growth in recent years, offering opportunities for further developing commercial and economic cooperation in several sectors.
“In 2023, trade between Finland and Türkiye hit a record high at around EUR 2.7 billion. Digitalisation and new technologies, in particular, will provide opportunities for Finnish businesses to increase trade with Türkiye in future,” Minister Ville Tavio says.
A business delegation accompanied Trade Minister Ömer Bolat on his visit to Finland. A meeting of the Finland–Türkiye Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO) was organised during the visit.
The meeting between the business delegations focused on joint opportunities especially in sustainable development in the textile and clothing industry, in achieving carbon neutrality in the steel industry, and in infrastructure projects in third countries in the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.
