Glossary of Administrative Terms and several glossary updates published in Valter
The Translation and Language Division of the Prime Minister's Office has published new content in the Finnish Government Termbank Valter, including a new glossary of common terminology used across branches of government. The Finnish Government Glossary was updated in six languages and new entries were added to the English terminology on the health and social services reform.
The Glossary of Administrative Terms is a new set of terms used in judicial proceedings concerning administrative matters and in other administrative functions. The terms and expressions are closely related to central government activities and administration, including administrative practices, filing of matters, document processing, information security, requests for review, public powers and position of public officials. The Glossary contains approximately 200 terms in Finnish, Swedish and English.
The Finnish Government Glossary was updated with a reduced selection of languages. The language equivalents for the terminology were updated and some of the descriptions were modified in all languages. The latest edition of the Glossary contains terms in Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French and Russian.
The Terms Used in Various Administrative Branches (previously known as the Glossary of Miscellaneous Government Terms), compiled at the Prime Minister's Office, contains Finnish terms relevant to several branches of government. A section in English was added to the Extensive Glossary related to the Health, Social and Rescue Services Reform 2022 (fi-sv-en) (also PDF) along with Swedish terms from the Aliens Act and Russian terms on export control.
Extensive updates were made to the English and Russian terms in the Higher Education Glossary, especially as regards the term ammattikorkeakoulu (en: university of applied sciences, ru: университет прикладных наук). Finally, an annual update was made to the Glossary of Government Agencies and Public Bodies.
