Minister Tavio to lead trade mission to South Korea
Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will lead a Team Finland trade mission to South Korea's capital Seoul on 8–10 April. The Minister will be accompanied by a group of Finnish companies in the thermal energy sector.
South Korea is the world's 14th largest economy and the third most important export market for Finland in Asia. The clean transition and various low‑carbon solutions are key areas where commercial ties can be strengthened.
During his visit, Tavio will meet representatives of the Koren central government. The discussions will focus on opportunities for commercial and economic cooperation between Finland and Korea, especially in energy technology, and topical trade policy issues.
The programme also includes participation in an innovation forum on thermal technology and meetings with key Korean partners.
“South Korea is an important, like-minded partner with whom Finland wants to deepen relations. We are eager to present to our Korean partners Finland’s unique expertise and the excellent solutions offered by Finnish companies,” Tavio says.
