Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will visit Oslo on 5 June and meet Cecilie Myrseth, Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry, Bård Vegar Solhjell, Director General of the Norwegian agency for development cooperation Norad, and business representatives.

Ministers Tavio and Myrseth will discuss cooperation between Finland and Norway in the north, export promotion and other topical commercial and economic issues. The meeting with Norad’s Director General Sohljell will focus on the support for and reconstruction of Ukraine and closer links between trade and development cooperation in developing countries. During his visit, Minister Tavio will also meet business representatives that play a key role in the relations between Norway and Finland, such as Managing Director of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise Ole Erik Almlid.

“Nordic cooperation is essential for both Finland and Norway, and there is increasingly more potential for bilateral collaboration in many sectors, including logistics, defence and trade. The vitality of the northern regions is very important, and the regions offer significant international opportunities,” Minister Tavio says. “It is important that we discuss the situation in and support for Ukraine with our close partners. The Nordic countries have a major role in the reconstruction of Ukraine,” Minister Tavio says.
