The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the City of Shanghai are organising the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on 5–10 November 2019. The event is now being held for the second time, and Finland has again been invited. Jari Gustafsson, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, will attend the Expo with a business delegation.

“The objective of our visit is to support Finland’s export efforts and the activities of Finnish companies in China. The event will also offer an opportunity for discussions with the Chinese decision-makers regarding cooperation between Finland and China, and to learn more about the situation of Finnish companies in the Chinese markets,” Permanent Secretary Gustafsson says.

As part of the Team Finland cooperation, Business Finland will be responsible for the arrangements associated with Finland’s pavilion in the Expo and for the programme. Nina Kopola, Director General of Business Finland, will also participate in the Expo.

The event brings together decision-makers and companies from dozens of countries. Participants from China include President Xi Jinping. The objective of the event is to promote business opportunities and cooperation in China’s growing import markets.

Business partners at Finland’s pavilion are Aavi Technologies Oy, Beneq Oy, Genano Oy, Nokia Tyres Trading (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., Tikkurila China (Paints) Co. Ltd., and Genelec. Other business partners include Biolan Oy, Metsä Group Asia and Nokia Shanghai Bell. Finland’s pavilion is also partnered with Business Finland’s Food from Finland programme, Finland Winter Sports Cluster and Visit Finland, as well as Shanghai FinChi Innovation Co. Ltd.
