Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković to visit Helsinki
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković will visit Helsinki on 6 February and meet Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen.
In their meeting, Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković will discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and topical foreign and security policy issues, especially Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. The other topics on the agenda are EU enlargement and the regional situation in the Western Balkans.
“Finland supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path to EU membership. Welfare and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans will have impacts on all of Europe, including Finland. Given the current security situation in Europe, we need to strengthen cooperation with our partners, and Finland will deepen its relations with the countries in the region,” Foreign Minister Valtonen says.
During his visit to Finland, Minister of Foreign Affairs Konaković will also meet Speaker of Parliament Jussi Halla-aho.
