20.12.2024 | Valtiovarainministeriö on käynnistänyt lausuntokierroksen TRACE-mallin toimivuuden ja kehittämistarpeiden arvioimiseksi. TRACE-malli otettiin käyttöön vuonna 2021 osana lähdeverotuksen uudistamista, ja nyt selvitetään sen vaikutuksia sekä pyritään tunnistamaan mahdolliset kehittämiskohteet.

20.12.2024 | Finansministeriet har inlett en remissbehandling för att bedöma funktionen och utvecklingsbehoven hos TRACE-modellen. TRACE-modellen togs i bruk 2021 som en del av reformen av källbeskattningen, och nu ska man både utreda dess konsekvenser och sträva efter att identifiera eventuella utvecklingsobjekt.

22.6.2022 | On 22 June, the Ministerial Working Group on COVID-19 received an epidemiological review as well as an overview of the updated vaccination strategy and testing and tracing strategy.

10.12.2021 | The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has updated the national strategy for COVID-19 testing and contact tracing. The principles for testing are still to detect infections quickly, curb the spread of infections among the population and protect particularly people who are at an increased risk of contracting a severe case of COVID-19.

10.2.2022 | The national strategy for COVID-19 testing and contact tracing has been updated. The aim is to identify the causes of severe respiratory infections and to prevent the spread of infections particularly among groups of people who have a high risk of developing a more serious form of the disease.

4.2.2021 | The number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 continued to grow the week before last, and this trend continued between 25 and 31 January. The positive news is that the number of people tested in the whole of Finland was considerably higher at the end of January than in late December and early January. Contact tracing works well in municipalities although it takes a lot of hard work. It is essential to trace and break new chains of transmission quickly.

28.4.2020 | The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has prepared a proposal for a roadmap for the introduction of a mobile application to support the tracing of coronavirus infections in Finland. The proposal is being circulated for comments until 5th of May 2020.

8.2.2022 | On Tuesday 8 February, the Ministerial Working Group on Coordinating COVID-19 Response continued the preparations for implementing the decisions made in the Government’s negotiations last week. The ministerial working group also decided in favour of lifting the recommendation on remote work at the end of February. Decrees on easing restaurant restrictions and extending the suspension of the use of the COVID-19 passport in its current form are under preparation.

28.4.2026 | The Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy has decided in favour of recruiting 500 young people for fixed-term positions in central government this year. An appropriation of EUR 4 million will be reserved for the recruitment in the second supplementary budget for 2026. The aim is to help young people find work in a challenging employment landscape.

19.8.2020 | The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has updated its coronavirus testing strategy. Several measures will be taken in the autumn to accelerate the coronavirus testing process and make it more efficient in order to tackle the spread of the virus in Finland as effectively as possible. 

2.2.2022 | In its meeting on Wednesday 2 February, the Government was briefed on the current epidemiological situation, discussed updates to its COVID-19 strategy and assessed the lifting of restrictions. The Government also decided on preparations for updating the COVID-19 passport.

10.12.2020 | The number of new coronavirus infections is still at a high level and a number of regions are in the community transmission phase. It is possible that the epidemic will take a sudden turn for the worse across the country. However, there are indications that the sharp increase in new cases we saw in mid-November seems to have levelled off. We will have to wait a few weeks more before we can see the effects of the regional restrictions and recommendations. 

18.2.2021 | Over the past four weeks, the number of COVID-19 cases have remained at the same relatively high level across Finland. About 2,300–2,700 new cases are reported every week. The number of people requiring hospital care has remained relatively stable, but the need for intensive care has increased slightly in the past few days. The weekly number of deaths from COVID-19 is decreasing slowly.

26.8.2024 | Rekisteröityjä hevosia on jatkossakin mahdollista siirtää Pohjoismaiden välillä lyhyitä kilpailumatkoja varten ilman terveystodistusta. Jatkossa hevosen mukana on oltava toimijan tai hänen edustajansa Traces-järjestelmässä laatima kaupallinen asiakirja (DOCOM), jolla hevosen matkaa kyetään jäljittämään. Kaupallinen asiakirja korvaa aiemmat asiakirjat ja parantaa eläinten jäljitettävyyttä.

11.6.2020 | The Government proposes amendments to the Communicable Diseases Act that enable the development of an information system for contacting people who may have been exposed to coronavirus (COVID-19). The information system would consist of a mobile application and a back-end system with the goal of supporting the management of the coronavirus epidemic.
