Finland and the majority of the EU Member States have sent a joint letter calling on the European Investment Bank to increase its financing for the European defence industry. The letter, drawn up at the initiative Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, is endorsed by two thirds of the EU Member States. In Prime Minister Orpo’s view, the EIB should play a significantly stronger role in increasing the financing base of the European defence industry.
