Coastal Fleet to rehearse anti-surface warfare and air defense with Swedes

The Finnish, German, Norwegian and Swedish navies will rehearse anti-surface warfare and air defense off the Swedish south coast from 7 to 18 October 2024.

The Coastal Fleet will participate in the Marex Autumn 24 exercise with Hamina-class missile boat Hamina. In addition, two Finnish officers will be deployed on board Swedish corvettes for the duration of the exercise. They will work under the Swedish operative command during the exercise.

Finland conducts close cooperation with Sweden. International exercises enhance the personnel's know-how and international interoperability in various areas of naval warfare such as air defense, anti-surface warfare and mine countermeasures. The exercise will be led by Swedish Navy.
