EU foreign ministers to discuss Russia’s war of aggression, situation in the Middle East and China
EU foreign ministers will convene for a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on 15 December. Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will represent Finland at the meeting.
At their meeting, the foreign ministers will discuss Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine with a focus on the EU’s support for the security arrangements for Ukraine and efforts towards a just and sustainable peace. The foreign ministers will also discuss the situation in the Middle East and China.
“Russia continues its brutal war of aggression against Ukraine. The EU needs to send a clear and strong message that the support to Ukraine will continue. Finland promotes a rapid solution to the use of immobilised Russian assets. The next sanctions package must be advanced without delay and tighter restrictions placed on the shadow fleet and those enabling its operation,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen.
The EU–Lebanon Association Council and the Ministerial meeting between the EU and Angola will be held in connection with the Foreign Affairs Council. EU foreign ministers will also meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
