On 15 January, the government plenary session adopted an electronic tool for session materials, a government session information system. In future, ministers will follow the progress of decision-making at plenary sessions on tablet computers. The change modernises the session procedure and reduces the need to print and transport decision documents between ministries.

The new government session information system is based on a real-time connection with the government electronic decision support system (PTJ) and its database. The application produces an electronic session agenda which enables to follow the items on the agenda and the plenary sessions.

The government electronic decision support system is a data system contributing to the decision-making process by the President of the Republic and the Government. The system was introduced in 1995 and has over the years been developed into its current form. The digitalisation of the government session decision procedure does not change the PTJ's basic functions, such as preparation by the ministries and keeping of minutes. The decision procedure at presidential sessions will also remain unchanged.

Last year, the Government held 60 plenary sessions, with a total of 1 677 items. The main part (359) were government proposals to Parliament.
