Maabrändi.fi website to continue where the delegation led by Ollila left off
Work on developing Finland’s country brand can now be followed via a newly launched website at www.maabrändi.fi. The site continues the work began by the Country Brand Delegation, led by Jorma Ollila, on the basis of the final report published in November 2010.
The Maabrändi.fi website will be a focal point both for following discussion of the topic and for giving feedback on the project as it proceeds. The site will document how different companies, organisations and individual Finns have taken up the missions given in the report and how discussion of Finland’s image has continued in the media in Finland and abroad. The website lists hits illustrating the discussion of the topic in the media at large.
“Discussion of the country brand work has continued briskly in spring and the missions set by the delegation have met with a good reception. The purpose of the new website is to give examples of how Finns can contribute to developing Finland’s image,” says the Finland Promotion Board chair Veera Heinonen, Director of Communications at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
The new website replaces two sites launched previously: “Mitä Suomi on” (What is Finland?) and “Tehtävä Suomelle” (A mission for Finland).
The website is published by the Finland Promotion Board, which is responsible for coordinating international communication about Finland and developing Finland’s country brand. Its members are the central actors that market Finland internationally and professionally, i.e. the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Finnish Tourist Board, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, Invest in Finland, Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, Finpro, Sitra, TAT Group/Finnfacts, Finnair and the Finnish Forest Foundation.
The website is produced and financed by Finnfacts, the Finnish Tourist Board and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
