Maria Paaso appointed as Special Adviser to Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Tavio

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio has invited Maria Paaso to serve as his Special Adviser. Paaso started in her new post on 27 April 2026.

Maria Paaso will be Special Adviser to the Minister in trade policy. She has previously worked as Special Adviser to the Minister of the Interior and held posts at the Finnish Immigration Service and the Government situation centre. Paaso holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Helsinki.

Tuomas Tähti will continue as Special Adviser to the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development and Saila Barke as Diplomatic Adviser. Diplomatic advisers are officials of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
