Prime Minister Juha Sipilä and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev spoke on the phone on Monday 29 June 2015. The discussion held on Finland's initiative was the first between Sipilä and Medvedev.
Prime Minister Sipilä told Prime Minister Medvedev about the Government Programme and objectives of Finland's new government. The Prime Ministers discussed topical matters relating to the bilateral relations between Finland and Russia and the EU-Russia relations. The premiers also discussed the Ukraine crisis. Prime Minister Sipilä emphasised the importance of finding a peaceful solution to the crisis through the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
