Foreign Minister Valtonen to visit Rome
Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will visit Rome, Italy, from 2 to 3 March. During her visit, she will meet Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, attend an Italian-Finnish business forum and speak at the Arctic Circle Forum about Finland's Arctic foreign and security policy.
In addition to bilateral matters, the ministers will discuss topical foreign and security policy issues, including Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, European security and the situation in the Middle East.
The foreign minister will also attend an Italian-Finnish business forum, hosted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which brings together leading companies from the two countries. The forum aims to deepen economic cooperation between the countries in several fields, including in the Arctic domain.
“Italy is a significant trading partner for Finland, and investments in both directions are increasing. Commercial cooperation between our countries has great potential for growth also in the Arctic region,” says Minister Elina Valtonen.
Minister Valtonen will also attend the Arctic Circle Rome Forum, where she will give a speech about Finland’s Arctic foreign and security policy.
