Government adopted plan for analysis, assessment and research in support of decision-making

On Thursday 3 December, the Government adopted a decision on the 2016 plan for analysis, assessment and research in support of decision-making by the Government.

The aim of the plan is to create a basis for systematic and broad-based use of research data in decision making, steering and operating procedures. The plan was drawn up on the basis of the Government's plan for the implementation of the key projects and reforms of the Government's strategic programme 

It consists of eight main elements and of 56 themes for analysis, assessment and research:

1. Employment and competitiveness

2. Knowledge and education

3. Wellbeing and health

4. Bioeconomy and clean solutions

5. Digitalisation, experimentation and deregulation

6. Structural reforms

7. Government linchpin projects

8. Other information needs

The Prime Minister's Office and the designated ministries for the different themes are responsible for implementing the plan in collaboration with the Government working group for the coordination of research, foresight and assessment activities. The selection criteria for the commissioned study include relevance, effectiveness, usability, quality and feasibility. 

The studies and research projects will be put out to open tender. The application period is due to start on 7 December 2015 and end on 18 January 2016. Information on the application process will be announced later.
