Prime Minister Sipilä to visit China

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will visit the cities of Beijing and Dalian in China on 25–30 June. The purpose of the visit is to further strengthen the Finnish-Chinese relations and promote economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, especially after the state visit by the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Finland in April.

On 27–28 June Prime Minister Sipilä will attend the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, organised by the World Economic Forum. During the visit the Prime Minister will also have bilateral high-level meetings. He will meet China’s Premier Li Keqiang to discuss bilateral relations between the counties and topical international questions. On 29 June Prime Minister Sipilä will open the Sino-Finnish Business Summit in Beijing. Several cooperation agreements between China and Finland will be signed during the visit.

The aim is to promote the business opportunities of Finnish companies in China. The business delegation accompanying the Prime Minister has representatives from 47 Finnish companies and organisations. The sectors represented include energy and environmental technology, information technology, healthcare and welfare services, manufacturing industry, finance, winter sports, and education. The delegation is coordinated by Finpro.
