Minister Poutala to attend Winter Olympics

Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Activity Mika Poutala will visit the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics between 17 and 22 February.

During his visit, Minister Poutala will be supporting and meeting up with athletes from the Finnish team. The Minister will be watching cross-country skiing, ice hockey, biathlon and figure skating. Poutala will also be meeting policymakers from other countries as well as international sports decision-makers. 

“We have a great team at the Olympics. I hope that as many as possible will be able to rise to their best performance of the season at this important juncture. I know what it feels like to be at the Olympics starting line and that is exactly why I want to support Finnish athletes. Many athletes dream of the Olympics, so let us all support Finnish athletes together,” says Minister Poutala.

Lastly, as a representative of the Finnish Government, the Minister will attend the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games.
