On Friday 3 March, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the situation in Syria and Turkey’s actions
In the discussions, they expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis in Syria’s Idlib region. A ceasefire is urgently needed to resolve the situation, which affects around one million civilians. Following the meeting, the Government will agree on Finland’s policy guidelines for the meetings of the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council and the Foreign Affairs Council, both of which will take place this week.
