New Ambassador to Portugal and non-resident Ambassador to Panama and the Dominican Republic
At the presidential session on Friday 5 December, the President of the Republic appointed Christian Lindholm to serve as Ambassador in Lisbon. The President of the Republic appointed Eija Rotinen, Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Bogotá, to Panama and the Dominican Republic.

At the presidential session on 5 December 2025, the President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Christian Lindholm to serve as Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Lisbon, starting on 1 January 2026.
Lindholm will transfer to Lisbon from the Protocol Services of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where he has served as Deputy Director General since 2023. In the Finnish Diplomatic Service, Lindholm has prior experience from Madrid, Lisbon and Manila, where he served as Deputy Head of Mission.
At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Lindholm has served as Director of Human Resources Development and worked at the Department for Development Policy, and at the Human Resources Unit as Human Resources Planning Officer.
Lindholm joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1995. He holds the degree of Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration.
