Prime Minister Marin to speak with EU leaders

Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend a video meeting of EU leaders on Thursday 10 September. The purpose of the meeting is to prepare for the Special European Council to be held in Brussels on 24–25 September, which will cover topics such as the EU’s relations with Turkey and China.

The small group meeting, convened by President of the European Council Charles Michel, will also be attended by Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, which currently holds the EU Council Presidency, along with the Chancellor of Austria, the President of Lithuania and the Prime Ministers of Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia and Denmark. Other similar small group meetings have also been convened.
Due to the videoconference, Prime Minister Marin will have to leave Parliament during question time.
